Denesha Wright, 26, has always had a passion for dancing and aspired to be like Debbie Allen from the tender age of 5. Dance is more than just her passion, it has been her lifestyle. Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, she joined the Praise Academy of Dance where she spent 3 years working her craft.
She has danced with various promotional groups in Kingston; where she performed for Coca-Cola in their half time show at the National Stadium for the World Cup Qualifiers. Shortly after, she relocated to Westmoreland and joined the Chosen Vessel Dance Group, where she danced as a principal dancer in several productions. She was also a member of the Western Dance Group in Montego Bay headed by Lisa Hayles; worked with Creative Director Douglas Sprout and Phillip Clarke as the main female solo dancer in the musical, White Witch of Rose Hall soon after.
She is currently the leader of the Dance Ministry in her church. She is also the Dance Teacher at Jabneh Christian Academy i n Grange Hill, Westmoreland, where she is preparing her students for the JCDC upcoming competition and other productions.
Needless to say that being a part Team Jamaica 2017 for the 21
staging of WCOPA is a dream come true!
